Green Key is an international eco-label awarded to tourism establishments that commit to sustainable business practices. At Grecotel, this certification reflects our adherence to strict criteria on energy and water conservation, waste management, use of sustainable products, staff training, and environmental awarness for guests.

Awarded to our beaches, the Blue Flag is one of the world’s most recognized voluntary eco-labels. It represents high standards in water quality, environmental education, beach cleanliness, safety, and services. It demonstrates our care for preserving the natural beauty and health of Greece’s coastal ecosystems.
15 Hotels
This label certifies that our hotels meet criteria designed to support cyclists and promote bike tourism. It includes infrastructure (e.g., bike storage, maintenance areas), cycling routes and maps, and sustainable mobility information, contributing to low-impact travel experiences.

“We do local” is a Greek certification that promotes local culture, economy, and sustainability in tourism. At Grecotel, we are proud to have hotels certified under this initiative, which highlights our commitment to supporting local producers, employing people from nearby communities, respecting local traditions, and offering authentic experiences to our guests. Through “We do local,” we strengthen our connection to the places we operate and contribute to the sustainable development of the Greek tourism sector.

This program, initiated by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, highlights the richness of Greek gastronomy. Our participation showcases our commitment to using local, fresh, and seasonal products, supporting local producers and offering our guests a genuine taste of Greek culinary heritage.

At Grecotel, sustainability is more than a commitment — it’s a structured, hotel-wide effort. Our program is driven by dedicated Sustainability Coordinators in every hotel, supported by passionate teams on the ground. Regional ESG Managers conduct internal audits, identify areas for improvement, and oversee the implementation of our strategy across locations. Leadership is actively involved in sustainability decision-making, ensuring that environmental and social responsibility remains a core part of our business direction and daily operations.
Grecotel is a proud member of the United Nations Global Compact, actively supporting its Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption. In alignment with this commitment, we integrate the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into our daily operations—promoting responsible tourism, reducing our environmental impact, and creating value for people and local communities.
