What is the weather like in Corfu?

Please be advised that the The climate of Corfu Island is Mediterranean, with mild, rainy winters and hot, sunny summers. The daily average temperature ranges from 9.5 °C (49 °F) in January to 25 °C (77 °F) in August.

From mid-March to May, the climate is mild, and the rains are gradually become rarer.

From June to August, it almost never rains, and the maximum temperature can reach 35/36 °C (95/97 °F), especially in July and August. Luckily, sea breezes blow, providing relief, at least when the heat is not excessive, and in any case, you can cool yourself in the sea.

In September and October, there may still be some rainy days. Even when it rains, it is very unlikely to rain for days to an end but during the day or night leaving plenty of time to engage in indoor and outdoor activities in the resort or around the island.

What is the payment and cancellation policy of the resort?

Pre-payment is required in order to guarantee reservations. How far ahead the payment is required and how far ahead you can cancel the reservation free of charge will depend on your stay dates and the offer under which you have booked.

 

What is the covid-related cancellation policy of the resort?

Under the below circumstances, will waive the cancellation charges and the deposit we have received can be used towards a future stay with the dates subject to blackout periods and availability.
1. If there is an official travel warning for the destination advising no travel to Corfu.

2. The guest’s point of origin or the destination is in lock-down.

3. If a guest tests positive for COVID-19 prior to arrival guaranteed by official test results.

4. Airline schedule changes (and subsequent reservation amendments)

5. Due to health or quarantine restrictions at guests point of departure or at the resort destination that restrict client from traveling to the resort destination.

How do I pay for my reservation?

Once your reservation is complete, the reservations team will send you a secure online payment link though which you can settle the payment via your credit card. Alternatively, we do accept bank transfers as well.

 

What are the payment methods while on the island?

Credit card/Debit Card payment as well as Cash payments are accepted on the island. As for credit cards VISA, American Express, MasterCard, Union Pay, Discover, JCB and Diners club are accepted. For Cash payments, Euros (up to 500€ are accepted).

TRANSPORTATION

What is the standard mode of Airport transfer to Grecotel LUXME Costa Botanica?

Grecotel LUXME Costa Botanica organizes private Transfers for Arrival & Departure from and to Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport for guests. This can be arranged either with a taxi or a luxury minibus. The journey will be approximately 60-minutes to access the resort from the Airport. The cost varies.

 

Can a baby seat be placed in the taxi or the minibus?                                                      

Regarding car seats for children, we would like to inform you that in the taxi or minibus a child seat for children from 12 months can be placed. For younger babies, we cannot provide a proper baby seat, so we recommend that you bring your own baby seat.

 

How can Corfu Town be reached?

  • Taxi order is available 24/7 at the reception (waiting time from 10 – 60 minutes)
    We recommend to preorder 24h in advance
  • With a rental car/motorbike, available option at the concierge desk
  • Public bus transportation on specific times during the day (information given both from the concierge or reception desk)

Are all the restaurants operational?

Depending on seasonality the operation schedules of the restaurants may vary.

 

What is included in the LUXME concept meal plan?

The LUX ME concept includes breakfast, lunch, dinner options as well as outstanding a la carte dining, snacking during the day including Pâtisserie-Chocolaterie, Creperie-Gelateria, premium selection of drinks & beverages. LUXME is valid in all available Restaurants and Bars and does not apply to in-room dining.  Possibility to dine in each a la carte restaurant once weekly, upon availability.

BREAKFAST

BUFFET RESTAURANT: A large variety of breakfast options, ranging from lavish American Buffets to exclusive a la carte options, fitness & local specialties. Late Continental Breakfast.

LUNCH

BUFFET RESTAURANT: A generous buffet-style- including Cretan Corner, healthy and vegetarian options and a vast international buffet with Mediterranean overtones for lunch.  Water, soft drinks, draught beer, Greek and International wine labels are available during lunch.

ITALIAN HOUSE: Located next to the swimming pools and the beach, the grill house prepares snacks & small bites throughout the day and offers juicy grilled delicacies, salads, pasta & pizza at lunch time.

DINNER

BUFFET RESTAURANT: A generous buffet-style including Cretan Corner, healthy and vegetarian options and a vast international buffet with Mediterranean overtones for dinner. Water, soft drinks, draught beer, Greek and International wine labels are available during dinner.

There are 150+ Wine Labels from Greece and all around the World, available in the LUX ME Concept. Guests can experience those varieties and exceptional wines in the “Wine Tasting Room” and “Sommelier experience.”

COSTA BOTANICA fine dining: A unique restaurant concept serving “menu degustation” from France, Italy and Greece prepared by masters.  Adults only (12+).

TAVERNAKI It’s all Greek to you, in this contemporary style “tavernaki”. It’s Greek specialties.

ITALIAN RESTAURANT: Italian classics. Italian cuisine. Enjoy charcuterie plateaus and fine risotto choices cooked sur mesure for you.

ASIA RESTAURANT: Dynamic & classic Asian recipes along with fresh sushi selections.

 

What are the meal options for Children?

Children below 12 years can dine for free at the Tasty Corner Lunch from 12:30-14:00
All Restaurants have available Kids Menus. Children aged over 12 years old are considered as adults.

 

Do you have Baby food meal plan?

0-1 toddlers will have arranged their baby food as you wish. Please contact the Restaurant Manager or your Guest Relations Manager to order in advance. Our staff is happy to lend a hand with warming baby bottles or baby food.

 

Do we need to book the restaurants in advance?

It is recommended to book restaurants a week prior to the arrival date to ensure the availability.

 

Can we book restaurants prior to arrival?

Υou can book the restaurants within 10-15 days prior your arrival either through our Grecotel App or by contacting our Guests Services Team via email or our WhatsApp Concierge which will be found through our Grecotel App.

 

Is there any dress code for the Restaurants?

We follow a resort-smart casual dress code during dinner time at all our restaurants.

Swimwear and flip-flops are discouraged at all our restaurants.

 

Can we arrange a Private Dinner?

We can arrange Private Dinners on different picturesque locations and with beautiful set ups in the resort.

 

Are there any gluten free options in the meals?

All our restaurants provide multi-choices for this kind of special diet.

Moreover, our colleagues from the F&B department will always be at your disposal to assist in any way necessary.

Also, we kindly request that you always inform the restaurant’s staff of the special diet required and that you note it in your bookings for the a la carte restaurants so that our staff is always prepared.

What are the Check-In and Check-out Hours?

What should I have with me upon the check in?

Your ID card or Passport and the credit card you have used to book your reservation.

 

Is it possible to enter my room prior to check-in?

If the room is unoccupied, the hotel may approve earlier entrance. However, if you are planning to arrive early in the morning and you want to ensure that the room is ready, we suggest that you book an additional overnight prior to your arrival.

 

May I use the Hotel’s Facilities before my check-in or after my check-out?

All the Hotel’s Facilities are available to Grecotel LUXME Costa Botanica guests to be used by the time you arrive in the hotel. Lux Me package ends at 5 p.m. on the departure day.

 

If I arrive before my check-in time, can I drop my bag somewhere?

LUXME Costa Botanica provides you a luggage area where you can safely store your luggage and personal belongings.

 

Is it possible to have a confirmed late check out?

A day before your departure a late check out may be confirmed at the reception. There are different options with applicable charges to choose according to the availability the resort shall have. However, if you are planning to depart rather late and you want to ensure that the room would be possible to be kept, we suggest that you book in advance an overnight with your reservation.

 

What is the environmental tax am I obligated to pay it?

An environmental fee, defined as Climate Crisis Resilience Fee, of €10,00 per room per night is applicable by law, payable by the guest directly at the hotel upon check out.

 

Is there a coffee or tea in the room?

All rooms are equipped with Tea & Coffee Facilities, Nespresso coffee machine and capsules (2 capsules complimentary daily, daily replenishment instant coffee and tea.

 

What is the size of the extra bed?

All our extra beds are 78 inches (200 cm) or 75 inches (190 cm)  in length and 35 inches (90 cm) in width and can accommodate an extra person should the room occupancy allows to be accommodated.

 

Is it possible to arrange 2 rooms next to each other?

If the booking is made in advance, we can arrange two rooms to be located next to each to other or the closest as possible according to the type and availability.

 

Can you confirm a certain room number or location?

A request can be made once the reservation is confirmed. We shall do our utmost to accommodate the request as per availability.

 

Does the hotel provide Iron & Ironing board in the room?

Iron and ironing boards are available upon availability for our guests and can be delivered in their room for a limited length of time for security reasons.

Ironing Service is also available with an extra charge.

 

Is there a safety deposit box in the room?

All room types offer a safety deposit box.

 

What plug adapter do I need to bring with?

The power plugs and sockets in the hotel are of type C. Type C consists of two round parallel pins while the wall plug has two holes where it is connected, the standard voltage is 220 V.

 

Is there an ATM machine in the hotel premises?

No. There is an ATM machine located approximately 300 meters from the Main Gate of our hotel.

 

Is the hotel accessible to Mobility Impaired Guests?

Not all departments are accessible to guests in wheelchairs. However, there are ramp sections beside most of the steps in the hotel.

 

Are pets allowed in the hotel?

Small dogs up to 8kg are permitted in certain rooms with their own private garden, terms and conditions are applied the resort must be contacted in advance.

WELLNESS

Do we have to book the spa in advance?

It is recommended to book Spa treatments in advance to guarantee the preferred timing.

 

Do you have a Sauna, do I have to book?

We do have a sauna room and a reservation prior is suggested.

 

Do you have a gym?

We have an outside very well-equipped gym with a trainer in presence.

 

Do you have a medical facility on the island?

We do have a public hospital, two private clinics on the island, along with an assigned 24/7 on call Resort doctor.

KIDS CLUB

Do you have a kid’s club?

We have a very well-equipped Children’s creative and educational facility called Grecoland.

 

What age is allowed in the kid’s club?

Children between ages of 04 – 12 years old will have complimentary access to the Grecoland kids club. Children who are 3-years old and below will also have access to the Grecoland kids club with the presence of a parent or a guardian.

 

Is it possible to book babysitting service?

Babysitting service can be booked with the below prices and terms and conditions.

Prices:

Normal hours (8am – Midnight):

€ 30 per hour, for one child

€ 45 per hour, for two children

Extended hours (Midnight – 2:00am):

€ 50 per hour, for one child

€ 65 per hour, for two children

  • Guests are required to book baby-sitting services 24-hours in advance, and they may do so via the Guest Services Team.
  • All bookings are for a minimum of 1 hour and follow with 1-hour increments. For example, if the babysitting lasts for 1.30hrs the guest will be charged for 2 hrs.
  • For children below the age of 2, we allow one babysitter per child and for children above the age of 2 years, 2 children per babysitter at a time.
  • Each babysitter is assigned to a single room.
  • The babysitter is chosen on best availability. We are not able to guarantee any specific requests such as gender, language, or a specific Teammate. Teammates from Grecoland are available for babysitting duties outside of operational hours.

ACTIVITIES

What Types of Water Sports Activities do you have?

We do have both non-motorized as well as motorized Water Sports activities.

With our Atlantis Watersports school, you can learn water-skiing and wakeboard, SUP, surf-bikes and pedaloes.

 

Do you do Excursions and boat trips?

We do have different types of excursions and boat trips, a wide option of boats from self-driven to yachts to enjoy the sea breeze of the Ionian emerald waters, cruises and experiences, snorkeling excursions, fishing.

 

Do we have to pre-book Watersports, and Excursions?

We recommend to book Excursions a week prior to the arrival date to ensure availability. Soon after your arrival will also be possible to explore options and suggestions with our concierge team. As for the watersports no pre-booking is required.

 

What date the Water Park is open?

Please kindly note that our Aquapark is operating from the opening day of the resort until the end of the resort’s operation, weather permitting, and it is included in the Lux Me All-Inclusive concept.

 

Do the water park slides have height restrictions?

Please note that the water slides have a height restriction of 1.20m. minimum.

In general, all slides and activities are open to everyone.

However, please note the following health and safety guidelines:

  • There are some slides that we do not recommend children under the age of 10 use.
  • Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Use of the slides should always be in accordance with the guidance and instructions of the lifeguards.

 

Do you have a baby pool?

We do have one baby pool in the resort and one baby pool in the waterpark area as well.
