Where are you located?
Creta Palace is located in Crete, Greece, approximately 70 km (43 miles) and about a 1-hour drive from Chania International Airport (CHQ) “Ioannis Daskalogiannis”. The airport operates seasonal international flights from numerous European cities, as well as regular domestic flights via Athens (ATH) and Thessaloniki (SKG), both offering extensive international connections.
Alternatively, guests may arrive via Heraklion International Airport (HER) “Nikos Kazantzakis”, located approximately 79 km (49 miles) from the resort, with a drive time of around 1 hour.
Crete is also accessible by sea. The Port of Rethymno is just 4 km (2.48 miles) away, approximately a 10-minute drive, serving regional ferry routes during the summer months. For more frequent ferry services, the Port of Heraklion (76 km / 47 miles) and the Port of Souda near Chania (56 km / 35 miles) offer regular connections to Athens (Piraeus) and other Greek islands.

What is the weather like in Crete?
Crete enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wetter winters. Summer (June–August) temperatures range from 27°C to 30°C (81°F to 86°F), with up to 12 hours of sunshine daily. Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–October) are warm and pleasant, with minimal rainfall, making them ideal for sightseeing. Winters (November–February) are mild, with temperatures averaging 10°C to 16°C (50°F to 61°F). Coastal breezes during summer help keep temperatures comfortable.
What Time Zone is followed in Crete Island?
Greece follows GMT+3 during the summer months (late March to October) and GMT+2 during the winter months due to daylight saving time.

How do I book?

How do I pay for my reservation?
Once your reservation is confirmed, our reservations team will provide a secure online payment link to complete the payment by credit card. Alternatively, payments may also be made via bank transfer. We accept credit cards, debit cards, and cash. For credit card payments, we support VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Union Pay, Discover, JCB, and Diners Club.
Please note that the same credit card used at the time of booking must be presented upon check-in, along with a valid photo ID or passport of the cardholder.
In accordance with local legislation, please note that partial or full payment of invoices exceeding €500 in cash is not permitted. All payments above this amount must be made by credit or debit card, or via bank transfer.
What is the payment and cancellation policy?
Pre-payment is required in order to guarantee reservations. The exact timing for payment, as well as how far in advance you can cancel free of charge, depends on your stay dates and the specific offer under which you have booked.
Are there any additional fees?
A mandatory Climate Crisis Resilience Fee of €15.00 per room, per night applies from April 1st to October 31st and is payable directly by guests at check-out.
TRANSPORTATION
How do I get there?
Creta Palace is easily accessible by car from both Chania International Airport (CHQ), approximately 70 km (43 miles, 1 hour), and Heraklion International Airport (HER), approximately 79 km (49 miles, 1 hour). Rental cars, taxis, and private transfers are available from both airports.
Are private transfers available?
Yes. Private luxury transfers to and from the hotel are available upon request and at an additional charge. A selection of premium vehicles is offered to suit your preferences. To arrange a transfer, please contact our Reservations Department at [email protected].
What modes of transportation are available at the destination?
Guests may use rental cars, taxis, or public buses to explore the island. Taxis can be arranged at any time through the front desk.
A public bus stop is located 150 m (0.09 miles) from the resort, offering regular service to Rethymno Town, approximately 4 km (2.48 miles) away. The journey takes around 15–20 minutes. Tickets cost approximately €1–2 and can be purchased at the mini market on the hotel premises. Buses operate every 30 minutes in high season and hourly in low season.
DINING AND MEAL PLANS
Are all restaurants operational?
Yes. All our restaurants are operational throughout the season. In the event of unexpected adverse weather conditions, outdoor seating areas may be temporarily closed for guest comfort and safety.
What meal plans are available?
At Creta Palace Grecotel, guests can choose Bed & Breakfast, Half Board, or the LUXME All-Inclusive concept.
Bed & Breakfast
includes a wide selection of buffet and à la carte breakfast options.
Half Board
includes Grecotel Breakfast and either dinner at the main restaurant buffet or the option to dine at selected restaurants with a credit allowance (€20 per adult / €10 per child), subject to availability and reservation.
LUXME Concept
includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, à la carte dining, daytime snacks, and premium drinks at participating restaurants and bars (excluding in-room dining). À la carte dining is available once per restaurant per week, with advance reservations required; availability and operating hours may vary by season, and the package ends at 5:00 p.m. on departure day. A smart casual dress code applies, and guests should inform the hotel of any allergies in advance.
What meal plans are available for children?
Children up to 12 years of age enjoy snacks at the ‘Tasty Corner’ and free lunch buffet at the ‘Labyrinth Main Restaurant’ (12:30–14:30). Kids’ menus are also available at selected à la carte restaurants. Guests aged over 12 are considered adults.
Do you have baby food available?
For infants aged 0–1 year, baby food can be prepared according to your preferences. Please contact the Restaurant Manager in advance to place your order. Our staff is also happy to assist with warming baby bottles or baby food.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
We are happy to accommodate special dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and halal options. Please inform us in advance of any dietary preferences or allergies so our chefs can tailor your dining experience to your needs.
Are there any dress-codes for the restaurants?
Resort casual attire is required during the day.
After 17:00, Elegant Smart Casual applies. Swimwear, sportswear, and flip-flops are not permitted in the evening.
Can private dinners be arranged?
Create and personalize your own private dining experience, prepared and served at the location of your choice. To arrange this service, please contact our concierge or reach out to the Guest Relations department at [email protected]. Our chefs are delighted to accommodate any special dietary or meal requirements.
Can we book a table in advance?
We recommend booking your restaurant reservations in advance. You may reserve in advance via the Grecotel mobile application, available for download on all iOS and Android devices. Please note that reservation time slots for the upcoming week are updated every Thursday. Alternatively, reservations can be made at the front desk upon arrival or at any time during your stay.
Is early breakfast or a breakfast box & lunch box available?
Yes, an early breakfast service is available for guests departing before regular breakfast hours. Requests must be made at the reception no later than 20:00 on the day prior to departure.
Where is Agreco Farm located and how can I get there?
Agreco Farm is located in Adele Village, approximately a 15-minute drive from the resort. Transfers are not included.

What documents or items are required at check-in?
Guests are kindly requested to present a valid ID card or passport, along with the credit card used to make the reservation.
Can I arrange an early check-in or late check-out?
Early check-in or late check-out may be possible depending on availability. To guarantee availability for early arrivals or late departures, booking an additional night is recommended. Late check-out requests should be made at reception the day before departure; charges may apply.
Can I use the hotel facilities before check-in or after check-out?
Guests may use hotel facilities once the check-in process is completed. After check-out, guests may keep their account open to include additional charges. If the account is settled, facilities may still be used for the remainder of the day, with any extra services payable directly.
Are luggage storage services available?
Yes. A dedicated luggage storage area is available for guests before check-in or after check-out.
Are twin beds available?
Yes, twin beds are available upon request in select room types.
What is the size of the extra bed?
All extra beds measure 200 cm (78 inches) in length and 90 cm (35 inches) in width and can accommodate one additional person, subject to room occupancy limits.
Is there an additional charge for a child staying in the room?
Children up to 12 years of age stay free of charge in their parents’ room in selected room types and during specific periods.
Does the room include complimentary coffee or tea facilities?
All rooms are equipped with tea and coffee facilities, including a Nespresso coffee machine. Two complimentary coffee pods are provided daily, along with daily replenishment of instant coffee and tea. Fresh milk is available upon request.
Is it possible to guarantee a specific room number or location before arrival?
Special requests regarding room number or location are noted and accommodated whenever possible, subject to availability. Guests are encouraged to contact [email protected] prior to arrival.
Does the hotel provide an iron and ironing board in the room?
An iron and ironing board are available upon request and delivered to the room for a limited time for safety reasons. Ironing services are also available at an additional charge.
Is there a safe in the room?
All room types offer a safety deposit box.
Do you offer a pillow menu?
A pillow menu is available upon request for selected room categories.

Do we have to book the spa in advance?
While it is not necessary to book in advance, we recommend booking Elixir Spa treatments and massages at least a week in advance. To make a reservation, you can use the Grecotel Mobile App (available on the App Store and Google Play), email [email protected], or call +30 28310 55181 to guarantee your preferred timing.
What are the spa facilities?
The Elixir Beauty Spa offers a range of facilities for relaxation and wellness. It features an indoor pool, separate saunas for men and women, and private therapy rooms. Guests can also enjoy a beauty salon and changing rooms.
Do you have male therapists?
We do have Male therapists at Elixir Spa.
Do you have a gym?
Yes. We have a well-equipped indoor and outdoor gym with numerous modern cardio and strength training equipment.
Do you have a salon?
We do have a beauty salon and a hair salon on-site.
KIDS
Do you have a kids club?
Our Grecoland kids club is a dedicated, fully equipped space designed for children aged 4–12, offering a variety of creative and educational activities supervised by trained staff. Children aged 3 years old and below are also welcome to use the kids club with the presence of a parent or legal guardian. The club operates six days a week throughout the season.
Do you provide special amenities for babies and toddlers?

What indoor & outdoor activities are available?
Creta Palace offers a wide range of fitness, wellness, and recreational activities for all ages. Enjoy yoga, pilates, stretching, aqua gym, beach volley, darts, table tennis, a tennis court and boccia. Outdoor activities include snorkeling, diving center and various watersports (available at an additional fee). Guests can also rent E-Bikes and E-Scooters with GPS-guided tours. Nearby attractions and experiences (available at an additional cost) include horse riding. Families can also enjoy the unique “Farmer for a Day” experience at Agreco Farm.

Are there good diving spots near Creta Palace?
Yes. A certified PADI diving center is located nearby, offering diving lessons, guided excursions, and full equipment rental. Courses are available for all levels, from beginners to advanced divers.
Do you do Excursion boat trips?
Yes. We offer a variety of boat trips, cruises, and yacht experiences to help you enjoy the sea breeze in style. Options include snorkeling excursions, fishing trips, and private cruises. What types of water sports activities are available?
Creta Palace offers a full range of both non-motorized and motorized water sports through our partners at Mastoras Watersports. Activities include kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), jet skiing, water-skiing, wakeboarding, parasailing, and fun rides such as banana boats, tubes, and Crazy UFO.

Is the hotel accessible to mobility-impaired guests?
Not all departments are accessible to guests in wheelchairs. However, there are ramp sections beside most of the steps in the hotel.
Are pets allowed in the hotel?

Do you have a medical facility or pharmacy nearby?
Yes. There are both public and private hospitals in Rethymno Town, located approximately 4km from the resort. A medical center is also available nearby for non-emergency needs. Additionally, a 24/7 on-call resort doctor for urgent assistance is available. Please note that medical services may incur additional charges.
Is there 24-hour reception service?
Yes. Reception is available 24 hours a day.
Is there an ATM machine on the hotel premises?
There is an ATM machine located on the lowest level of the hotel’s Main Building, near Elixir Spa Entrance.
Is there an exchange office at the reception desk?
No, you may exchange cash notes at the airport in Euros.
Do you provide Wi-Fi, and is it free?
We provide complimentary Wi-Fi access.
What are the parking options at the hotel?
There is a parking area in and nearby the hotel premises as well as a valet service.
What plug adapter do I need to bring?
The hotel is equipped with Type C power plugs and sockets. Type C plugs feature two round parallel pins that connect to corresponding two-hole wall sockets. The standard voltage supplied is 220 V.
Is the tap water drinkable?
Tap water in Crete is generally safe to drink. However, it is recommended to opt for bottled water.
