Larissa has a Mediterranean climate with continental influences, meaning hot, dry summers and cold winters. Summer temperatures often reach 30–40 °C (86–104 °F), while winters can be cool to cold, with temperatures sometimes dropping close to 0 °C (32 °F). Spring and autumn are generally mild and pleasant, making them ideal times to visit, with moderate temperatures and less rainfall.

Greece follows GMT+3 during the summer months (from late March until October) and GMT+2 during the winter months, due to the daylight saving time change.

How do I get there?

Grecotel Larissa Imperial is easily accessible by car, train, or bus. Larissa is about 370 km (230 miles) from Athens International Airport (approximately 3.5–4 hours by car) and 170 km (106 miles) from Thessaloniki International Airport (around 1.5–2 hours by car). Larissa is a major rail and bus hub, with frequent train connections from Athens and Thessaloniki. From the Larissa railway or bus station, the hotel is just 4 km (2.5 miles) away and can be reached quickly by taxi or local bus.

 

Are private transfers available?

Private luxury transfers to and from the hotel are available upon request and at an additional charge. A selection of premium vehicles is offered to suit your preferences. At Grecotel Larissa Imperial, transportation options include local buses covering the city and nearby suburbs, taxis for quick and convenient travel, and walking or cycling in the flat, pedestrian-friendly city center. Visitors can also rent a car to explore the region more freely. Intercity travel is served by long-distance KTEL buses and the Hellenic Train network, with Larissa railway station providing connections to Athens, Thessaloniki, and other destinations.

Can I arrange an early check-in or late check-out?

If the room is unoccupied, early check-in or late check-out may be possible. However, to guarantee availability for early morning arrivals or late evening departures, booking an extra night is recommended. For late check-out, guests may inquire at reception the day before departure; options and charges vary depending on availability.

 

Can I use the hotel facilities before check-in or after check-out?

All hotel facilities are available to Larissa Imperial guests from the moment the check-in process is completed. Following check-out, guests may request to keep their account open to include additional charges. If the account is settled at check-out, guests may still use the facilities for the remainder of the day, with any additional services paid for directly.

 

Are luggage storage services available?

The hotel provides a dedicated luggage area where we can safely store your bags and personal belongings before check-in or after check-out.

 

Are twin beds available?

Yes, twin beds are available upon request in select room types.

 

What is the size of the extra bed?

All extra beds are 190 cm (75 inches) in length and 85 cm (34 inches) in width. Each extra bed can accommodate one additional person, provided that the room occupancy allows it.

 

Is there an additional charge for a child staying in the room?

Children up to 12 years of age stay free of charge in their parents’ room, applicable to select room types and during specific periods. Children up to 12 years old can be accommodated on an extra bed, free of charge, in Superior Guestrooms or Executive Suites. Please note that bungalows cannot accommodate a third person. Does the room include complimentary coffee or tea facilities?

Tea and coffee facilities are available in selected room types. All suites are equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine and capsules (two capsules provided complimentary daily), with daily replenishment of instant coffee and tea.

 

Is it possible to guarantee a specific room number or location before arrival?

Special requests regarding room number, location, and proximity are noted with care and will be accommodated whenever possible depending on room type and availability. We kindly recommend informing us prior to arrival via e-mail at [email protected].

 

Does the hotel provide an iron and ironing board in the room?

An iron and ironing board are available for our guests and can be delivered to the room upon request for a limited period of time for security reasons. An ironing service is also available at an extra charge.

How do I pay for my reservation?

Once your reservation is confirmed, our reservations team will provide a secure online payment link to complete the payment by credit card. Alternatively, payments may also be made via bank transfer. We accept credit cards, debit cards, and cash. For credit card payments, we support VISA, MasterCard, American Express, UnionPay, Discover, JCB, and Diners Club.

Please note that the same credit card used at the time of booking must be presented upon check-in, along with a valid photo ID or passport of the cardholder.

In accordance with local legislation, please note that partial or full payment of invoices exceeding €500 in cash is not permitted. All payments above this amount must be made by credit or debit card, or via bank transfer.

 

What is the payment and cancellation policy?

Pre-payment is required in order to guarantee reservations. The exact timing for payment, as well as how far in advance you can cancel free of charge, depends on your stay dates and the specific offer under which you have booked.

 

Are there any additional fees?

In compliance with legal regulations, a mandatory environmental tax called the Climate Crisis Resilience Fee is charged. From April 1st to October 31st, the fee is €15.00 per room, per night, and from November 1st to March 31st, it is reduced to €4.00 per room, per night. This fee is settled directly by guests at check-out.

DINING AND MEAL PLANS

Are all restaurants operational?

Imperial Restaurant operates daily on an à la carte basis for lunch or dinner from 12:00 to 23:30 (last order at 23:15). The Lobby Bar, offering an exclusive list of drinks and snacks, operates daily from 08:00 to 00:00. The Pool Bar operates during the summer season (June to September) from 12:00 to 20:00, offering a wide variety of drinks, cocktails, and snacks.

 

What meal plans are available?

Guests can choose a Breakfast-only plan, which is available year-round at the hotel.

Half-board options are available only during festive periods (such as Christmas and Greek Easter). Meals are served at Imperial Restaurant during the following hours:

Breakfast: 07:00 – 10:30
À la carte Lunch/Dinner Menu: 12:00 – 23:30 (last order at 23:15)

 

What meal plans are available for children?

Imperial Restaurant offers a kids’ menu upon request.

 

Do you have baby food available?

For infants aged 0–1 year, baby food can be prepared according to your preferences. Please contact the Restaurant Manager in advance to place your order. Our staff is also happy to assist with warming baby bottles or baby food.

 

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

We are happy to accommodate special dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and halal options. Please inform us in advance of any dietary preferences or allergies so our chefs can tailor your dining experience to your needs.

 

Are there any dress-codes for the restaurants?

We kindly request all guests to adhere to a resort casual dress code with appropriate footwear while dining with us.

Evening Dress Code (after 17:00): Elegant, smart casual. Swimwear, sportswear, and flip-flops are not allowed.

 

Can private dinners be arranged?

Create and personalize your own private dining experience, prepared and served at the location of your choice. To arrange this service, please contact our concierge. Our chefs are delighted to accommodate any special dietary or meal requirements.

 

Can we book a table in advance?

We recommend making restaurant reservations in advance. Reservations can be made via the Grecotel mobile application (available for download on iOS and Android devices), at the reception desk, or via email at [email protected].

 

Is early breakfast or a breakfast box & lunch box available?

Yes. A packed breakfast or lunch can be provided upon request. Reservations must be made at the reception by 21:00 at the latest on the previous day.

WELLNESS

Do you have a spa?

Yes. Our Imperial Elixir Spa offers a range of wellness and beauty treatments, as well as massage services.

 

Do we have to book the spa in advance?

It is recommended to book Imperial Elixir Spa treatments at least one week in advance to guarantee preferred timing. To make a reservation, please contact our reservations team via email at [email protected].

Do you have male therapists?

We do have male therapists at Imperial Elixir Spa.

 

Do you have a gym?

Yes. We have a well-equipped gym.

 

What are the spa facilities?

The Imperial Elixir Spa at Larissa Imperial offers a relaxing wellness experience with a heated indoor pool featuring hydromassage and water cannons, a sauna, hammam (steam bath), and hydrotherapy facilities. Guests can also enjoy a range of massage and beauty treatments in private treatment rooms, as well as access to changing rooms and showers. Spa services are available at an extra charge, and access is generally reserved for guests aged 14 years and over.

 

Do you have a gym?

We have a very well-equipped gym. For use of the gym, no reservation is required.

KIDS CLUB

Do you have a kids club?

At Grecotel Larissa Imperial, we do not operate a kids club. However, designated children’s entertainment programs take place during festive periods such as Christmas and Greek Easter.

 

Do you provide special amenities for babies and toddlers?

Yes. Our GrecoBaby service provides a wide range of amenities for infants and toddlers (aged 0–3 years) to ensure a comfortable stay. Items can be requested in advance. Are babysitting services available?

What plug adapter do I need to bring?

The hotel is equipped with Type C power plugs and sockets. Type C plugs feature two round parallel pins that connect to corresponding two-hole wall sockets. The standard voltage supplied is 220 V.

 

Is the tap water drinkable?

Tap water in Larissa is generally safe to drink. However, it is recommended to opt for bottled water.
